Current Volunteer Opportunities
For the Volunteer Interpreters Program, we recruit volunteers from all languages, including but not limited to: Albanian, Amharic, Arabic, Bengali, Bosnian, Burmese, Cape Verdean, Chinese, Farsi, French, Greek, Haitian Creole, Hindi, Igbo,Italian, Khmer, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Somali, Spanish, Swahili, Tigrinya, Vietnamese!
Our Wellness Connect program provides programming on Thursday mornings and afternoons at elderly housing sites in the South End. Volunteers who speak Chinese, Spanish, Vietnamese, Haitian Creole, and Cape Verdean Creole can assist by providing interpretation and socialization for our elderly residents. Join us for some fun activities!
At our family sites we host beginner computer classes for adult residents interested in learning digital fundamentals: turning on a computer, safely surfing the web, creating an email account, creating documents, downloading photos, using Zoom, etc. Volunteers who speak Chinese and Spanish are especially needed to assist with these classes. Schedules vary, a small stipend is provided for assisting with multiple class sessions.
