Volunteer Interpreters Program
BHA's Volunteer Interpreters Program (VIP) was piloted in Fall 2010 by the Language Access and Resident Engagement department as a capacity building initiative that recruits and trains bilingual or multilingual individuals from local colleges and communities to serve as housing interpreters. VIP has since expanded BHA's language resources to 30 languages and is instrumental in providing interpretation and translation services for BHA's clients during appointments, community meetings, and phone calls ensuring that families who speak limited English have access to BHA's services.
