General Description: Under general supervision, is responsible for the filling of stock orders, storage of materials, loading and unloading of supplies, and the general maintenance of the stockroom. Individual responsibility for certain inventory categories may be required.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Stores, issues, and maintains records on the disposition of the materials and supplies related to the Central Stores operation.
- Unloads and verifies incoming orders.
- Locates and stores stock in bins, shelves, or pallets.
- Locating, counting and issue of requisitioned items.
- Accurate preparation of the various records to the disposition of stock.
- Notifying superiors when stock is low or discrepancies appear.
- Assisting in the physical inventory count; and maintaining the stock area in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience: High School diploma or a GED required. Must demonstrate some reasonable familiarity with identification and use of the type of material and supplies stored at Central Stores. Reasonable skill in handling and issue of materials; ability to maintain simple records accurately, physical strength, and ability to get along with others.
