Immigration Status
In order to receive rent subsidy in the Federal Public Housing Program you must be a United States citizen or have other eligible immigration status. Read the detailed guidelines.
If some members of your household are eligible but others are not, subsidy will be provided only to those with eligible status and your household will pay a higher, prorated rent. Your manager can show you how this rent is calculated.
Citizenship or eligible immigration status is not now required for the state-funded public housing program.
