On Monday, Boston College High School students teamed up with the Boston Housing Authority Police and other BHA staff to give back to the Boston community through BC High’s annual Thanksgiving food drive.
Students helped transport the hundreds of food donations to BHA’s Groveland development, where they sorted through and organized all of the goods, before making special Thanksgiving bags to give to residents. This year, the food drive provided 170 turkeys and hundreds of bags of food to BHA residents and families.
Sergeant Richard Forrester from the Boston Housing Authority Police told the students about how the drive started with a few bags of food and a couple of turkeys more than 15 years ago, and has grown to feed thousands of families across the greater Boston area.
