Resident Empowerment Coalition

The Resident Empowerment Coalition (REC), operating within the Center for Community Engagement and Civil Rights, is designed to strengthen resident engagement through educating and mobilizing residents to support organizing. The main goal of REC is to engage residents in Boston Housing Authority programs, policymaking, and community development opportunities.

The Resident Capacity Program provides technical support and training to build the capacity of resident organizations in all BHA public housing properties as well as within the Section 8 Voucher resident community.  

REC Meetings have moved online for now, and are now every other month Join us the last Tuesday of every other month starting Tuesday, June 29 at 2 pm on ZoomRegister here for the REC Meetings every other month to have the link to join emailed to you. 

During the months in between, please join our REC Planning Meetings to give your input to help make REC meetings more enjoyable and helpful for all residents, to propose agenda items, and connect with other residents.  Our next REC Planning meeting is: Tuesday, May 25 at 2 pm.  Please register here.

Peer to Peer Learning Group is back!  Join us Tuesday, May 18 at 2 pm on Zoom to share your experiences with other residents, talk about tenant rights and organizating, particularly during redevelopment.  Please register here, and see the flyer in English here, aquí en español, 这里是中文.
